Luke's Pre-K Graduation

The unthinkable has happened... Luke is old enough to start Kindergarten in August. I think my heart will never live inside my body again, as I just have an enormous case of TSUNAMI FEELINGS at the thought of this prospect. Throw in that he's starting a school year this August but I am not*, and boy do my emotions bubble over even more.

*Confession time: though I've dated this post May 31, I'm actually writing it on August 2. In 23 days from this time, Luke will have been home for about an hour after his first day of Kindergarten. It is just more than my mama heart can handle!!!!

Easter Fun

Easter was so late this year - it didn't seem like it would ever get here. We had school on Good Friday because of all of our inclement weather this year, so the kids' amazing, incredible, awesome preschool had plenty of festivities, including egg hunts!

Take me out to the ball game...

Since Kate was born, Jeremy and I have really seen the importance of having time with our kids individually. When we saw that the Texas Rangers and Autism Speaks were pairing up to do a fundraiser, we bought tickets to the game and left Kate with a babysitter!

Happy Birthday, Kate!

Time flies when you're having fun... I just can't believe that Kitty Kate is 1!

Thomas and Friends

Since we knew the weekend ahead would be very Kate-centered, we wanted to be sure little Luke got some extra attention and TLC. I was driving down Main Street in Grapevine a month ago, and when I saw the Day Out with Thomas banner, I knew where we would be spending Luke's day! Luke has been so into all things Thomas lately, and we hoped the visit would be a hit...

Kate's First Haircut

Kate's hair has grown so much over the past few weeks. Her emerging curls have MELTED OUR HEARTS, but she's gotten a little fluffy around the bangs and sideburns. With her first birthday party and Easter not too far away, I wanted to get her hair trimmed and needed someone I could trust. Thankfully Taylor, who works at a salon with my stylist and has a young girl of her own, agreed to give Kate her first hair cut.

I can't believe how well Kate did! She was very alert - she studied Taylor really carefully, but she was nice and still. I'm amazed!

Mom came with me to keep an eye on Luke since I was sitting in the chair with Kate. (Mom also said that if Taylor cut off any of the curls in the back, she would kill her. =| Not kidding, y'all. We take curls quite seriously! :D) Luke was so busy that Mom wasn't able to get a ton of pictures, but at the very least she got a before shot...

...and an after!

Sweet Kate is growing up way too quickly!

Playroom

I'm going to do my best to write this while Kate climbs all over me. :)

Our big project for Christmas 2013 was to convert our office (or, as I affectionately called it, our in-home landfill) into a playroom for the kids. We work best with a deadline and pressure, so once we decided to do this around October, we had many busy weekends!
