More "Staycation" Pictures

Oh Staycation... how fun you were, but how exhausting you were, too! (So exhausting that it has taken two weeks since everyone went home to finally get this properly blogged. Eeek.)
The picture above is from Luke's first swim of the summer. Oh my goodness did he love it! He had so much fun swimming that he slept on the couch for over two hours, despite the door to the backyard opening and closing about 75 times. That, friends, is some good sleep!
Rather than do a long recap, I'll just post some pictures.

"Have a Six Flags Day!"

As I've mentioned previously, we spent the first full week of summer spending time with family that came to town to visit. I'll do a separate post of a hodgepodge of pictures, but I had to do a Six Flags post first. I hate to admit it, but I don't have a ton of pictures. What I do have is an awesome story. Not only is it funny, but it totally lends itself to a teaching moment on word choice. Glorious... at least to this nerdy English teacher! : )

Tub Time

Before I make a longer post about our family reunion this past weekend, I wanted to post a few pictures of Luke's favorite household past-time: climbing. Oh my goodness. We climb up on the couches. We climb into our high chair. We climb in and out of various bathtubs. With all the chasing around I'll be doing, I could get into pretty good shape!

So first, Luke scouts the tub of choice.

But I don't WANNA get up!

Last week, Luke had a lot of big - well, LATE - nights. On Thursday night, Jeremy and I went to the GCISD Education Foundation Shining Stars Banquet, where we got to see my Aunt Mary receive a big award, and I was fortunate enough to be recognized by a Top 20 graduate as well. This meant Luke got to spend some time with Aunt Jackie and Uncle Johnny. They all had a blast, I think. Luke played and played and played... and stayed awake until almost 10:00 p.m. Yikes!
