Just a day before sweet Kate turned eight weeks old, she had surgery to remove her cataract from her left eye. We got up EARLY on the morning of May 21 to head to Children's Medical Center in Plano for her operation. Even though cataract surgery is the most commonly performed surgery in the U.S., it's a different animal when the operation is performed a)on any baby and b)MY BABY!!! Let's let the pictures tell the story...

Super Skater!
I know I'm relatively new to this parenting gig, but here's one thing I've learned in my 4 years, 8 months, and 24 days on the job: there's not much better than your child doing something that leaves you in total awe.

One Month Already?!?!
As I mentioned in my previous post, the first two weeks of La Vida Kate were pretty hectic. Between the discovery of her congenital cataract, visit to the ophthalmologist, news of the need for surgery, and Jeremy's illness, we were all pretty wiped out! As a result - and I'm bummed to say it - I don't think I took as many pictures. So, this update is a bit overdue, but if there's ever a time I can be forgiven for that, it's when I have a newborn and a 4 year old, right? :)
