Busy busy busy!

Luke here taking over the blog since Mommy and Daddy are so tired. Mom feels bad for not having posted anything for a while, but she and Daddy have been busy looking for houses while showing ours. There were some people here this morning that sure seemed to like it, so we hope to get an offer tomorrow. I'd cross my fingers if I knew how...

...but instead I CRAWL! Man, I got the hang of it just a few weeks ago, and now I am everywhere! Mommy doesn't let me go to my favorite things (like cords and Hannah's tail), but I still find a way to have fun. Here I am modeling one of my two swimsuits. I can't wait for summer vacation!

What Mommy didn't realize before this photo shoot is that it isn't always a good idea to take pictures of me when it's just a few minutes before I'm supposed to eat. I tried to show my displeasure with her idea, first with relative subtlety.

When my pouty face didn't work, I tried a teenager, "You are so stupid, I don't even know how you function" look.

Finally, tired of negotiating, I let her have it.

Mom got the message. She fed me some lunch, and after a bottle and a change of clothes, we were good friends once again.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well! Thank you for reading my blog!

Love, Luke

Gettin' a move on...

Good news - there is a "For Sale" sign in front of our house! It feels good, too, since our past three weekends have consisted of packing (as Luke demonstrated above), moving boxes and furniture to storage, and cleaning and straightening up to get things "show ready." What happens from here, of course, is anyone's guess, but at least we're moving in the right direction. This will be a big lesson on patience - not one of my finer virtues, that's for sure - but hopefully at the end of the road, we'll be in a nice new house!

Luke is doing great - or at least he was until he got this nasty cold. I initially thought it was teething, as he had all the symptoms (drool, low grade fever, fussiness, etc.). But after we pulled an all nighter last night and not even Motrin could console the little guy, I knew we needed to see the doctor. Now that we're pumping some Benadryl into him, Luke is doing much better. This little funk has been a setback in his crawling progress, but I suspect he'll be moving around before we know it! (As long as it takes blogger.com to post pictures, he could be crawling by the time I finish this post!) Luke is growing more fascinated than ever with Hannah. He smiles at her and "pets" her ("pet" = tug on her collar and ears). Fortunately, Hannah tolerates his affection at the very least.

qwaA` <---- That's from Luke, by the way. Did I mention he also loves the computer? He also loves the remote control, as you see here...

Here are some other images of late April and early May.
Luke's Easter Sunday outfit, which he's modeling using a strange hand pose.

Luke at Granny's birthday celebration. Check out those big blue peepers.

My eight month old yesterday for his bear and chair pose.

awqaa <------ More of Luke's musings here. I'm pretty sure that's Luke-speak for, "Thanks for checking out my blog! Have a great week!"

Busy times...

I have not been a very good blogger for a while, but I have a decent reason: we are in the throes of getting this house ready to sell! In the past 15 days, we have had foundation work done (which required ripping up carpet in two rooms. Yuck.), carpets cleaned, painting touch ups done, and have made innumerable trips to our storage unit to get this place ready to "stage." Along the way we've suffered from pains great (Jeremy's back is not in great shape unfortunately) and small, but we hope to have a "For Sale" sign in the yard by Saturday. Please say a prayer for us as we start this whole selling/buying journey! It will be eventful to say the least...

Anyway, I promise I'll get some Luke pictures up soon. He is thisclose to crawling - he can get on all fours and rock back and forth. It's just a matter of time.

Have a great week!

Hoppy Easter!

We're getting into the Easter spirit... which means dressing Luke like a giant bunny! More pictures to come, plus video... I need Jeremy's help with that part. In the meantime, enjoy the holiday weekend! : )

7 Months Old!

Here is our 7 month old... wow! We got to see Megan (my sister) and Parker (my nephew) these past few days, which was wonderful! Parker (16) is holding Luke, who, as you can see, still keeps his "deer in headlights" stare at picture time. Hopefully we have better luck with professionals.

I realized that I never posted Luke's lenght-weight stats from his last doctor's visit (3/13/09 - at 6 months and 1 week old). I'm sure you'll find them amusing...
  • Length - 28.75 inches long (above 95th percentile; up from 21.5 at birth!)

  • Weight - 17 lbs 5 oz (between 25th and 50th percentile; up from 9 lbs at birth)

  • Head - 17.75 inches around (75th percentile; I can't find what it was at birth)

No surprises - still long and skinny. Case in point: he's wearing 9 months, and I suspect we'll be moving to 12 months soon because of his length. They're roomy in the middle, though.

Alright - little man is fussing at me, so I'd better go. I'll do my best to post more soon! Have a great weekend!

Baby, It's Cold Outside

For those of you reading this outside the great state of Texas, we're experiencing a cold snap this weekend. I needed to run some errands, and since Jeremy was out of town for the day, I bundled Luke up and brought him with me. Isn't he cute?

Naturally, I hear we're supposed to be back in the 70s by Monday at the latest. Gotta love it!

Have a great weekend, everyone! Stay warm!

Spring Break Has Sprung

It's a sad time: the final night of Spring Break. It's been a great one, but, like all Spring Breaks, it has gone by way too quickly. The best part of the break has been all of the time I've gotten to spend with Luke! This post will be more picture-heavy than anything. After all, it's 11:36 p.m., and I have got to go to bed, even though I am not remotely tired. I have no idea where this energy has come from. I sure wish I had it, say, earlier today when I got tired while doing work for school! [One quick note: for those of you, if any, who have followed my bracket blogs - no more until Wednesday, if at all. I think that since work is resuming, I doubt I'll have the time to devote to my mascot musings. : )]

Luke spent some time at Honey and Grandfather's on Tuesday, when we had a belated birthday dinner for me with my brothers, sisters-in-law, and Granny. Luke enjoyed his new basketball hoop that Honey and Grandfather got him. He was a very good boy, even though he had barely napped all day. (You can kind of see his pink eyes if you look closely.)
I think this is the funniest little expression on his face.
Another Spring Break milestone: Luke has segued from the kitchen sink to the big boy bathtub, as you can see here.
Luke must have sensed that he needed to put the duck in a special place.
The rest of these are from our trip to the Dallas Arboretum on Saturday. Jeremy's parents came up for the day, and we had a wonderful time! As usual, Luke wasn't terribly cooperative for the camera, but his cute clothes and natural beauty of the setting made for a lovely set of pictures nevertheless. Enjoy!
I got a picture of his outfit before we left - just in case he barfed on it!

Three generations of Roberts men: Jeremy, Luke, and Pete.

Have a great week everyone!
